Stanley Black & Decker (SWK) – The industrial sector seasonal strength into November continues to play out and SWK is a name that has lagged the last few months after a strong start to 2021 hitting a high of 225 in May before retracing all the way back to its YTD VPOC support at 175. The stock has broken above its monthly value area and 200 day EMA this past week and looks poised to start a fresh uptrend into the end of the year and its seasonal strength of November. SWK has been up 10 out of the last 10 years in November for an impressive average return of +4.8%. This is the best calendar month return going back 10 years and even looking back 20 years yields the same bullish bias for November. With the stock up just shy of 7% year to date, there is plenty of room to catch up to other industrial stocks that have run higher already. SWK has a few upside VPOC’s untested at about 195 and 205. The 187 level it just recently broke out above also represents a key yearly value area high that has shown support for the stock. SWK does not see a lot of options action but still has a large trade from back in late July sitting in open interest, 500 January 2023 $200/$160 bull risk reversals bought for $15.30.
